Buseje Bailey is a visual artist. She earned her MFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, and her BFA at York University. She works across a variety of media that includes painting, video, photo-based, and sculptural installation work. Her work has been shown nationally, and internationally in group and solo exhibitions. Most of her professional art career has been focused on the hybridity of her art practice in relation to her Afro-Jamaican/Canadian experience and identity – shared portrayals from cultural perspectives.
In addition to her artwork, she delivers courses on African Diasporic Art and Culture in colleges and universities and works on community-based projects.
